Paralegal Day and CLE – From District 3

Posted by Texas Paralegal Division Blogger at blog@txpd.org on October 25, 2017

The D3 Paralegal Day luncheon took place at Pappadeaux Restaurant in Fort Worth.  We had 63 attending paralegals and guests.  Chad Baruch from the Johnston Tobey Baruch law firm presented “Chameleon Legal Writing:  How to Write to Your Reader.”  Through the generosity of our vendors and sponsors, there were several door prizes as well as goodie bags for each attendee

D3 also held its first multi-hour Saturday “D-3 Wild West CLE” was held at the Granbury Resort & Conference Center in Granbury, TX on October 21, 2017.   The Wild West CLE allowed paralegals to earn 4 hours of TBLS approved CLE.  The topics included an update on the 85th Legislature, a presentation on cybersecurity geared more to paralegals in small to mid-sized law firms;  a legal writing refresher discussing how to obtain clarity in your writing, and an update on paralegal ethics.   Due to the generous contributions of several vendors, the District was able to provide approximately 50 paralegals with the CLE at no cost.    Because the event was held outside of  Fort Worth, area paralegals from the southern and western parts of District 3 were able to attend.
